Slate Blue/Autumn Glory, REDD Colors, Children's Knits, Gentlemen's Knits, The Legend of Robert Redd

Slate Blue/Autumn Glory

The University student body was restless for an agreeable athletic color…the crimson red and silver grey of yesteryear was not holding its own, as the red was fading into a pink on the muddy-wet fields. The students met to determine the right mixture for their colors.

It was Virginia’s star football player of the 1890’s Allen Potts’ scarf that caught the eye of the student body. One particular body in fact, Robert Redd, as previously mentioned, had his hand in a lot of pots, so to speak. This particular day the student body wanted to make a choice and as legend has it, it was none other than our hero Robert Redd, who yelled out, as he grabbed Allen Potts’ Orange and Blue scarf, “How will these colors do?” The crowd loved it and the rest is history, or legend, as the case may be.

“Orange and Blue!”…Bold and True!
