We’d like to give a
round of applause to everyone involved in this year’s Foxfield Spring Races,
and especially to those of you who helped make REDD’s first outing as the
Foxfield Lead Sponsor a galloping success! Staffers, race officials,
spectators and REDD patrons—we couldn’t have done it without you.
It was a busy day
from the get-go, with us setting up sales tents in advance of the 9am opening,
and word spreading that the REDD VIP sponsor tent was the most desirable
destination. “There’s a vicious rumor going around,” mentioned one young attendee, “that you guys have free food and an open bar?” You might think it too
good to be true, but to listen to the various testimonials we received over the
course of the day, it seemed that the general consensus was that this had been
an event done right, from A to Z.
Did we mention the REDD sunglasses? When it turned out that the expected all-day showers had petered
out in favor of more typical spring-sunburn weather, our REDD-banded eyewear
started selling like hotcakes. Which just goes to show you what can happen when
you hedge your bets against the odds—whether with the possibility of a sunny
day, or the low-seeded horse, or the small business with local roots and a
whole lot of heart, blessed with the opportunity to take part in such a
glorious event as today.
We are deeply,
deeply grateful to our customers, friends, and families for everything they
have done to help see us to this point—a turn of the corner for Robert Redd by any
metric, and also, hopefully a historic showing in the opinion of those who have
been relishing the Foxfield tradition for decades. There are big things on our
horizon, and we at REDD look forward to meeting them as they come.
But in the
meantime, here’s to you, with future adventures in mind.
Best regards,
REDD
