Many of the garments Robert Redd wore were cared for by Wasser, his faithful and daring valet and there was also Christine, his very capable housemaid who made his life so warm and comfortable.

Pima Cotton, above all else, must be cared for. If one washes it too hard, the material can shrink more than five percent, and this won’t do. Hence, it is necessary to follow a simple process in order to care for the REDD shirt.

Always Wash in Cold Water ~ Gentle Cycle

Tumble Dry on Low Heat
Wasser would block-dry the garments. Or hang the garment to dry on a cloths line.

A Cool Iron
If a fresh press is desired, please use a cool or warm iron as Christine did.

Never Use Liquid Softeners
REDD designed his shirts with a natural softness.
Therefore no additional softeners are needed..

Never dry clean
REDD suggests saving your money for more adventurous pursuits.
Dry cleaning tends to cause cotton colors faded and dull.
