A Brief History of Robert Redd & The University of Virginia
The fascinating and unpredictable Legend of Robert Redd was in part forged by his time at the
University of Virginia. Indeed the Legend of Robert Redd began in his early years, yet, was
further bolstered while attending The University before the turn of the century.
It is fitting then; the Legend and the University are brought together in this year, once again.
Like those years after Reconstruction, Charlottesville was, at worst, an environment of open-
mindedness and creativity. Robert Redd was a Cavalier of course, evident in his zest for
progress, his love of fine ladies, and a most unique sense of humor.
Robert Redd occasionally found himself prey to the beautiful ladies at the University… apparently,
he was quite well thought of. While attending the university Redd had his hand in many projects
and endeavors. In fact the REDD Gentlemen’s knit shirts inspired by the Legend of Robert Redd
are superbly designed and fit the frame of any gentleman and even a lady or two…Thus making
him twice, nay thrice as desirable!

Congratulations to Captain Bray Malphrus, Collin Briggs with his five goals, and the rest of the UVA Lacrosse team for their fifth NCAA tournament win. After a slow start for the Cavaliers and Terrapins, the second quarter gave the fans 7 total goals with five of them going to UVA. After it was all said and done, the UVA team walked off the field with a narrow 9-7 victory over the Maryland Terrapins.
